WT Skip Hire

Which Size Skip Is The Right One For You?

Posted on: 06/08/2014

When you come to hiring a skip, you need to think about what size skip to get so you avoid ending up paying more for a big skip you don't really need or getting a skip which is too small and you need to rent another one or go without. Skips sizes are measured in yards but if you are unsure of how big this is we provide their dimensions in feet and how many black bags they hold. If you are just clearing your garden out then a 2 yard skip would suit you best, increasing to a 3 yard skip for minor house work or refurbishment. When you start venturing into renovation projects and clearing your house out of clutter then a 4-5 yards skip would be ideal for you with 6 being better if you have a larger house. These size skips are our most common range for domestic customers, looking to clear the house of clutter, fix up the garden or refurbish a room or 2 in the house. Once you reach the 8-10 yard range, you ideally should want a skip to hold the waste from a large garden landscaping project, a full house clearance or building work. Finally, we offer 12 and 18 yard skips that are ideal for industrial or commercial use, designed to hold very large and bulky items with their high sides. The biggest skips we offer are 20 yard and 40 yard Roll On Roll Off skips, but these are purely for commercial use. Whichever skip you decide is the right size for you, we are happy to offer our services and provide our skips to you at competitive prices.
