We have added a new tarpaulin purchase option that you can select when you are hiring one of our skips. Tarps are a convenient way to keep the contents of a skip covered. As you are buying your tarpaulin, you can keep it and put it to any number of uses after we have collected the skip.
We are offering two sizes of tarpaulin for sale:
- Small (fits 2-6 yard skips): £10
- Medium (fits 8-12 yard skips): £15
Both sizes of tarpaulin come complete with bungee strapping – for fixing to the lugs on the side of our skips.
To add a tarpaulin when hiring a skip using our online booking form, just select yes in the box marked ‘Tarpaulin’ on the Stage 4 Skip Details page. The price of your skip hire will automatically update to include this additional purchase.
Purposes of a Tarpaulin
Attaching a tarpaulin to the top of your skip will keep the contents dry. It will also deter people from illegally disposing of items inside your skip whilst it is on your drive or on the roadside near your home. In the past, we’ve had customers request a tarpaulin to keep the contents of their skip covered during a house clearance due to family bereavement – as this can be an emotional time.
As this is an additional purchase item (not a hire like the skip) you will of course be welcome to keep your tarpaulin. Tarps are great for using when camping, for keeping firewood dry and for making an improvised waterslide to entertain the kids on a summer day – just peg it on a slope and add water and washing up liquid!
Of course, if you have no further use for your tarpaulin, you can leave it to be recycled with the rest of your skip contents.
If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. You can call us on 01493 668118 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
