Press Release: World Book Day Event

Skip being prepared for World Book Day event

Norfolk skip company WT Skip Hire invites you to attend the unveiling of its latest skip art in conjunction with artist Mik Richardson.

The new skip celebrates 20 years of World Book Day (on March 2nd 2017). In Mik’s beautiful landscape, painted on the side of the skip, are 20 children’s characters from across modern and classic children’s literature.

The skip will be at Sparhawk Infant and Nursery School, Sparhawk Avenue, Sprowston, NR7 8BU on Monday 27th February at 9am. Following an assembly with Mik, the children will be able to see the skip and identify as many of the 20 characters as they can.

The exhibit is part of a week-long set of activities being organised by the school to celebrate World Book Day. WT Skip Hire director Gary Thurtle says:

“World Book Day is an inspirational idea and really gets children engaged in literature at an early age. Mik’s work is a joy to look at, and we thought it would be a great way to connect Mik’s imagination with the imagination of local children.

Once it is completed the skip will be put to work, so will be a mobile piece of art for people across Norfolk and Suffolk to marvel at.”

Journalists and photographers wishing to attend should contact Gary Thurtle on 01493 668118 or 07775857704 by Friday 24th February.
