We live in a digital age and websites have become a crucial tool for businesses all around the world. In recent years we have invested a significant amount of time in developing a site which offers our customers all of the information they require in order to arrange their skip hire and waste management.
However, we know that issue of cybercrime is only going to become more important in the years ahead. It is estimated that the average cost of cybercrime to a company is £36,500, but most cases of fraud are preventable by taking the time to educate yourself and using a little bit of common sense.
With that in mind, on Tuesday we visited Potters Resort in Great Yarmouth to attend a ‘Protecting Your Business Online’ cyber security seminar. The event, which was hosted by Barclays, was an excellent opportunity to learn more about protecting your business online, get advice on what can be done to guard against cybercrime and to network with like-minded people.
Speakers at the event included Norfolk Police Cyber Crime Security Officer, Paul Maskal and Barclays Business Digital Eagle, Joseph Cooksey. During their speeches a number of eye-opening videos were shared which really brought home how careless we can all be with our online security. We would definitely recommending taking a few moments to watch the videos below and think about how secure you are online!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Paul Maskal, Barclays and Potters Resort for putting on such an informative event!
