The waste left in the wake of a household job can sometimes exceed your expectations. For this reason, it is important that you choose the right sized skip in order for your waste to be disposed of in the safest and easiest way. Here at WT Skip Hire, we have a wide range of skip sizes: meaning our customers can always select the right capacity of skip for the job in hand. Here are some tips to help you identify the skip size that you need.
Choosing the Right Skip for the Job
During any major garden project or home refurbishment, there is bound to be some waste created. Choosing the right skip to fit all of this left-over waste is an important decision. Here are some tips to help you:
• All of our skips are measured in cubic yards, which is their Length x Width x Height. Here are our skip sizes explained in more detail.
• We have a range of sizes. These include 2,3,4,5,6,8,10,12 and 18-yard skips. We also have Roll-on Roll-off skips available for hire.
• Our skips that are over 8 cubic yards must not be filled with rubble or soil because of weight restrictions.
• Our skips under 10 yards are more popular for smaller jobs such as landscaping and small construction projects.
• Most of our skips can be supplied with a cover to ensure protection of the waste in the skip.
What Skip Do I Need?
This time of year, our smaller skips are more in demand when it comes to domestic jobs. Our 2 and 4-yard skips are especially popular in autumn as people prepare for garden clearances. Depending on the size of the job, the size of the skip you need will vary. For smaller domestic jobs, any of our skips from 2-yards to 4-yards are ideal. However, when it comes to larger jobs such as full office refurbishments, we’d advise that you chat to us about precisely how big a skip you’ll require.
The Risks of Overfilled Skips
Overfilled skips are a regular problem we face and they threaten the safety of our employees and other road users. An overfilled skip poses a danger to the safety of other people and will land you with an additional charge. Don’t try and risk saving money by hiring a skip too small for the amount of waste you have. You will probably end up having to pay extra for the skip being overfilled. Unsure what constitutes an overfilled skip? Here are some examples we commonly deal with.
