Christmas is now almost upon us and we are slowly winding down ahead of taking a break for the festive period. Before we all head off to spend time with our loved ones, I wanted to take a few moments to reflect on the year that has been and look ahead at what you can expect from WT Skip Hire in 2017.
During this year, we were delighted to welcome four new members of the WT Skip Hire team – Karen, Mike, Gary and Mick. They have already made a big contribution to the company and are doing amazing work. We have also been involved with some great projects, including two school extensions in Great Yarmouth and lots of retail and commercial refurbishment projects. Finally, we have also started supplying domestic and commercial skips to new areas of Norfolk and Suffolk.
Great Yarmouth Duck Race
In September, we took part in the Great Yarmouth Duck Race. Our duck, designed and painted by friend of the company, Mik Richardson, was named Ducky McDuckface and completed the course – finishing fifth in a large field and awarded the title of ‘Best Dressed Duck’.
Maritime Festival
Also in September was the Great Yarmouth Maritime Festival. We were once again thrilled that Mik Richardson was able to join us and whilst the weather was somewhat hit and miss, it did not stop more than 30,000 people attending across the two days. Many of those stopped to appreciate Mik’s work as he painted iconic ships onto the sides of our skips and one of the highlights was watching peoples’ faces when they realised that our skip was also a boating lake!
Plans For 2017
One of my proudest achievements is building a strong brand that customers return to because of our good service. In 2017 we hope to further expand new postcodes, further improve the usability of our website and look at new business and networking opportunities.
Finally, just before we go, I wanted to wish everyone a positive and caring 2017. There has been a lot of negativity this year and some wonderful people have passed away. As a gesture of goodwill, we are donating food to the Norwich Open Christmas appeal, which will be feeding lonely or homeless people on Christmas Day.
