We are excited to have commissioned artist Mik Richardson, the man behind the hugely popular Freddie “Radio Go Go” Gorilla from last year's Go Go Gorillas trail in Norwich, to create artwork on the side of two of our skips, live on Great Yarmouth seafront. The event will be taking place between 10am and 5pm across the weekend of Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June, next to the Sealife Centre. We have given Mik the brief of creating designs that are based around local landscapes; particularly Norwich, Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broads. Over the years Mik has completed over 300 murals and held numerous graffiti workshops. He has also been involved in a number of public art projects including, among other things, BBC Country file, the Olympic Torch Relay, Go Safari Northampton, the North Walsham Hippo Trails and obviously last year's Go Go Gorillas trail. Mik talks about his work on the Go Go Gorillas trail, and some of his previous work, in this Youtube video. Hopefully lots of you will be able to come down to the seafront and see Mik's work come to life and we look forward to seeing the end result!
