Our Skip Sizes Explained

If you have never hired a skip before then you might not know that skips come in different sizes and volumes. Depending on what you need it for depends on how big of a skip you will need to hire. At WT Skip Hire we are able to provide our customers with a number of different skips sizes ranging from 2 – 18 yard skips. In this week's blog we want to guide you through some of our most popular skips we have available and what they are mostly used for. Our Skip Sizes 2 Yard Skip Our 2 yard skip, also known as a mini skip is 5ft length x 4ft width x 3ft height and holds between 25-30 black bags. This is a perfect skip if you are looking to give your garden a bit of a spring clean this year as it's small, convenient and ideal for both domestic and business use. 3 Yard Skip The 3 yard skip is one of our most popular skips and is mainly used for small renovation projects such as a bathroom renovation or demolishing garden stonework. This skip is 6ft length x 4ft width x 3ft height and holds between 35-45 black bags. 5 Yard Skip Our 5 yard skips holds about 55-65 black bags and is the perfect container for rubble and soil as it has a drop door so materials can be wheeled straight in. This is also perfect for customers who want a bit of extra space without having to order a full builder's skip. You will find that our 5 yard skips are 7.5ft length x 5ft width x 3.5ft height. 6 Yard Skip This is classed as a small builder's skip and can be used for larger building and refurbishment projects. It is very popular small skip for domestic use, including larger house clearances and can come with or without a drop door at the rear. Our 6 yard skip holds around 65-75 black bags and is 10ft length x 5ft width x 4ft height. 8 Yard Skip The 8 yard skip is our most popular enclosed skip mainly used for major building projects. It is ideal for very big garden landscaping projects as well as full property clearance projects. This skip holds between 75-85 black bags and can be supplied with a cover or door if needed. Our 8 yard skips are 12ft length x 6ft width x 4.5ft height. Other Skip Sizes We do have bigger skips available for bigger projects as well as a roll on roll off skip for commercial use.
