It’s great to have a good clear out – but some people just don’t know the value of what they are throwing away. Here are 5 of the most unusual and valuable things that have ever been found in skips!
1. Movie Magic
When Site Manager Robert Farrow rescued a couple of old film canisters from a skip, he was astounded to find he had uncovered two lost Peter Sellers films. The 1957 films, Dearth of a Salesman and Insomnia is Good for You, were long assumed to be lost.Â
2. A Cinderella Story
An honest worker for the refuse collection service Panda found €1500 in a shoe. Fortunately, the company were able to trace the owner – a lady with Alzheimer’s disease whose daughter had unknowingly thrown out the shoe – and return the money.Â

5. Caravan Holiday
From the valuable to the downright bizarre: someone in South Wales thought they could dispose of their caravan by balancing it on top of a skip. The skip hire company refused to load it until the caravan had been broken down and placed more conventionally.
