Short answer: no. We will always protect your driveway from any damage that a skip might cause. We take great care when loading and unloading skips from our lorries. Nevertheless, some driveway surfaces are more sensitive than others. If you are concerned about your new block paved or tarmac driveway being marked by a skip, rest assured that we will bring some planks of wood to rest our skip on.
Finding the Best Spot
If you haven’t already selected the place where you want your skip to go, our driver will liaise with you to establish the best situation. We can even place skips over short (no higher than 3ft) walls and hedges, which has sometimes opened up options that the property owner wasn’t aware would be accessible.
Driveway Entrances
Our skip lorries are big old beasts and our drivers are used to manipulating them into some tight spaces. However, we need a minimum of 9-10 feet width on a driveway entrance to allow the skip lorry to gain full access.Â
On the whole, the best thing to do is keep us informed. If you have any worries about possible scratches to a new surface or tight driveway entrances, just let us know. We’ll do everything we can to alleviate your worries and solve any logistical problems. At the end of the day, we have the full insurance that is required to apply for permission to site a skip on the public road – so we can always take that option if necessary.
